The Muscle Type 1 is a vehicle in Burnout 3: Takedown. It is heavier and harder to force into a drift than most of the vehicles in the muscle class, but the classic car's weight allows it to deliver powerful blows while preventing it from getting pushed around during a fight. These advantages make it an excellent choice for Road Rage events.

Because of its classic American muscle car appearance, the Muscle Type 1 is a very iconic car in its series. Not only does the car have a unique style, but it is the heaviest vehicle available for races apart from its upgraded model. Obviously, the 5 point weight is excellent for taking rivals down and withstanding them, but the car's driving performance is also affected. While gripping onto the road fine, the Type 1 turns and accelerates more slowly. In addition, the braking is slightly delayed and may require players to brake early before entering a drift. Generally, this muscle car is an asset in Road Rage and Crash. Players can still make use of it in races, although there are better candidates.

Unlike most Burnout 3 vehicles, the Muscle Type 1 has no sponsor decals and is multi-colored despite being the base model. It can be painted black/white, red/white and yellow/black. White/blue and its reversed pattern were cut from the game.

Resemblance

The Muscle Type 1 appears to take a few design cues from the 1965-1966 and 1967-1968 Shelby GT350 but has tail lights like those found on the Chevrolet Corvette C3.

• Prior to Burnout 3's completion, the Muscle Type 1's vents were placed in front of its rear wheels.
• The white finish with blue stripes were once featured in the game, but now phased out on the final release build. This may have been because it would have made it too obvious that this car was based the Shelby GT350.
• It has a V8 badge on its rear fascia, indicating that it has an 8-cylinder engine.
