The Xbox is a sixth generation console and Microsoft's first console. It was released in 2001 and was the first console to be shipped with a built-in hard drive. It got the first dedicated online service with Xbox Live in 2002. Its original controller ("Duke") was very large and actually has a record as the world's biggest controller in the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2008 but controller was soon replaced with the smaller "Controller S" (codenamed "Akebono") which was originally only available in Japan. It is also the predecessor of the Xbox 360. It was discontinued in 2006 with sales having reached 24 million worldwide.
